HTC Radar A Top Selling Phone 2 Months and Counting



In a post intended to show that the Iphone is still dominating the smartphone market WMP pointed out that it also shows TMobiles HTC Radar being a top selling phone two months in a row. The phone ranked as the #3 best sellar on Tmobile is evidence that Microsofts strategy of getting volume through mid specked handsets before launching the higher end ones may be working.

Nokia = Most Trusted Brand In India



Many people here in the United States have failed to see why Nokia's adoption of the WP7 platform, for their smartphones, is such a big deal. This interesting article from the Economic Times points out that Nokia is the single most trusted brand in India. The survey was done not exclusively to phones or even electronics but of all brands and placed Nokia ahead of even TATA (considered Indias most beloved company). India has one of the fastest growing smartphone markets in the world and will soon surpass Chinas as the most populated country in the world. It starts to become clear why Nokia may indeed be the silver bullet WP7 has been waiting for.

Nokia Announces Transportation App



Nokia has designed a very clever transportation APP that figures out how to get you from wherever you are to where you need to go over multiple forms of public transportation.

Lumia 900 Launched



As exciting as the device is it came as little suprise that Nokia launched the Lumia 900 at CES this week. The device has a 4.3" screen is LTE enabled and exclusive to AT&T. At launch it will come in cyan and black but more colors will be released in the future. In addition to the exclusive Nokia Lumia apps perhaps the most differentiating feature of the phone is the 8mp Carl Ziess rear camera that with wider lenses giving the phone better up close picture capabilities in addition to a stellar front facing camera.

HTC Titan II Confirmed



This phone has not been the best kept secret but HTC today announced the release of the Titan II which will be available on AT&T. The massive 4.3" WVGA screen is accompanied by has become the standard second generation specs of WP7 phones with a 1.5GHZ processor, 512 MB of Ram and 16 GB Flash memory. In addition to being 4g LTE ready the big improvement on this phone is the impressive 16 MP camera which is also accompanied by a 1.3 MP front facing camera.

Additionaly HTC's Peter Chou said the “Titan II is packed with image technology”.

The camera will feature a fast wide-angle lens (f2.6, 28mm), autofocus, and dual LED flash, red eye reduction, image stabilization, a panorama mode for landscapes, and a burst shot mode.

Samsung Focus Flash Ad



This ad has been airing for about two months now showing of the social features of the WP7 platform. I had initially resisted including it on the site since I question it's effectiveness but It does make people chuckle.

Lumia 900 Confirmed by NYT

In an interesting article titled, "Microsoft Defying Image Has Gem in Windows Phone," New York Times reporter Nick Wingfield confirms what Tech bloggers have been saying for a while that Nokia is about to release a Lumia 900 device which will be LTE enabled and larger than the Lumia 800. The article calls the device a, "sleek aluminum," phone which contradicts earlier reports. Either way the wait to see will not be long since Wingfield confirmed that it will be released tomorrow at CES.
